Iran notable flick goes on poster

Venice fest acclaimed ‘No Date, No Signature’ goes on poster prior to domestic release in Iranian theaters.

Director Vahid Jalilvand and actor Navid Mohammadzadeh won Best Director and Best Actor Awards for ‘No Date, No Signature’ at the Venice Horizons sections of the 74th Venice Film Festival.

According to a local media report published Friday, the flick will be screened in Iranian cinemas starting from next month with the release of a poster as a prelude to opening.

"Kaveh Nariman is a coroner in the medical examiner's office. One day at his work he meets a corpse which is very familiar to him," a short synopsis for the flick reads.

Leading US film magazine Variety has reviewed ‘No Date, No Signature’ as “a handsomely made, exceptionally well-played drama that largely works despite a few significant plot holes.”

The review praises Navid Mohammadzadeh’s performance, saying, “all four main actors are in top form, but it’s Mohammadzadeh who steals the show."
